Glenn D. Prestwich, PhD

Dr. Prestwich brings a long and extraordinary history in medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering and entrepreneurship to our board. He has a relentless dedication to finding answers and helping humans and pets through science.

Dr. Prestwich’s credentials are long and impressive: Presidential Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, The University of Utah (1996-present); BSc (1970), Chemistry, California Institute of Technology; PhD (1974), Chemistry, Stanford University; Alfred P. Sloan Research and Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards; 1998 Paul Dawson Biotechnology Award (AACP); Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering Professor of Chemistry, Stony Brook University (1977-1996); Director, Center for Biotechnology (Stony Brook, 1992-1996); Director, Center for Cell Signaling (2002-2007); Director, Center for Therapeutic Biomaterials (2004-present).

Dr. Prestwich is co-founder and former CSO, Eschelon Biosciences, Inc. (Salt Lake City, UT); Co-founder and former CSO, Sentrx Surgical, Inc.; Senior Scientific Advisor, Carbylan BioSurgery, Inc. (Palo Alto, CA); Co-founder and former CSO, Glycosan Biosystems, Inc. (Salt Lake City, UT).

He has also published over 556 papers, patents, and book chapters; additionally, he has trained over 69 graduate students and 53 postdocs over the course of 30+ years.
