Thomas N. Parks, PhD

Dr. Parks is a highly-respected neuroscientist, inventor and business entrepreneur with a deep love of research, innovation and commercialization. This combination brings a unique perspective to Sentrx.
After training in neuroscience at the University of California, Yale University and the University of Virginia, Dr. Parks joined the faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Neurobiology & Anatomy.
He has also served as the George & Lorna Winder Professor of Neuroscience and chair of his department and as the Vice President for Research and President of the Research Foundation for the University of Utah. He was a co-founder of NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc. and a board member for 20 years. The company developed three first-in-class drugs and was acquired in 2015 by Shire Plc. He is currently a director of Navigen Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Dr. Parks is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and a recipient of the Utah Governor’s Medal for Science & Technology.
