Time to get up to date on eye disease with this new free course!
Understanding veterinary ophthalmology is critical to working in a veterinary practice. According to the 2019 Cost of Pet Health Care Report by Healthy Paws Pet Insurance, eye issues rank within the top 10 reasons for a vet visit. Veterinarians see animals who are experiencing varying unusual symptoms in their eyes including watering, swelling, or itching almost every single day. For veterinarians, it is more important than ever to keep up with continuing education in the specialized field of veterinary ophthalmology to provide optimal care.
To help fill this need, Vet Candy has partnered with Sentrx Animal Care to provide a free veterinary ophthalmology master course to veterinary professionals. The program focuses on reinforcing the essentials of veterinary ophthalmology and includes expert tips from a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, Dr. DJ Haeussler, owner of The Animal Eye Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“I think general practitioners can benefit from this course, not only from the in-depth eye education, but also, to know when to ask for help and refer a case,” says Dr. Haeussler, one of the leading professionals in the field of veterinary ophthalmology.
“Veterinary ophthalmology is an essential part of small animal practice,” says Dr. Jill Lopez, Vet Candy CEO, “We are delighted to team up with Sentrx Animal Care and Dr. DJ Haeussler to bring this free course to our profession.”
The course is divided into eight modules, and Lopez says that “clinical confidence is the overall objective here.” Once the modules are completed, participants will need to pass a quiz to receive their certificate of completion and tools to help them celebrate and share their accomplishments.
“We are proud to be partnering on such a unique initiative,” says Mason Williams, Chief Commercial Officer at Sentrx Animal Care, a leader in ophthalmic veterinary products, “Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional that wants the newest guidance, this course is for you.”
The program is also RACE and NYS-approved for veterinary continuing education. The master course is free and can be accessed 24/7 on Vet Candy’s website: www.myvetcandy.com/eye
Vet Candy, a company devoted to making learning fun, is launching four other master courses in 2021. Courses are free for all veterinary professionals and provide continuing education credit.
